The investment package includes spending £2m with Dossan dealer Promac for three heavy tracked excavators as well as smaller crawler and wheeled excavators.
The firm is also backing Hill International’s latest quick hitch couplers with a renewed order and will shortly renew a deal with Atlas Copco for heavy-duty compactors and breakers for use on the Hinkley Point nuclear power station building programme.
A major part of order comprises the new Doosan Stage IIIB compliant large crawler excavators from 30 to 38 tonnes, as well as smaller crawler and wheeled excavators including the new DX140LC-3 and DX160LC-3 machines launched in the UK.
Merrill Lynch, operations director at Lynch, said: “Our company mission is ‘Meeting Hire Demands’.
“With this latest order from Doosan, we are focusing on new requirements laid down for Stage IIIB machines for projects such as Crossrail and the legacy works after the 2012 Olympics, which will form the bulk of over £12m of purchases in the next 12 months to meet this need.
“All the new machines are supplied to the exacting Lynch demolition and utility specification, offering safety features such as automatic dual-locking quick hitches, audible reverse alarms, reversing cameras and demolition cages as standard.”
The hirer has also backed Hill Engineering’s TEFRA Couplers, which recently won an innovation award at the Plantworx.
Lynch added: “We believe that Hill’s TEFRA next generation quick hitches are the safest on the market today.
“Our customers such as Bam Nuttall and Skanska demand the highest standards in safety and that is what we get from Hill.”
Hill Engineering is also active in helping Lynch with Quick Hitch Training and road shows to issue safety cards at over 60 sites to date.
